Alabama probably isn’t the first place music critics think of when they recall the indie rock greats, but this left-of-centeredness is what gives Carver Commodore an intriguing edge. CARVER clearly draws on inspiration from greats like The Strokes and contemporaries like Wallows, but does it with just enough distance from the NYC scene that you can tell there’s something different behind these songs, even if you can’t place what.
